Bengre Kamats,R.P.Kamat Group diversified into tourist operations, and set up Kamat Tourist in March 1994. Then with a fleet of 4 buses, it offered daily excursions between Bangalore and Hubli.

With growing and increasing travel needs of people, the unit then ventured into new routes.
